Key Fonts Plus

Key Fonts Plus, the CD edition dated 1995 (Internet Archive item Keyfonts). Its layout matches the 1994 CD: 1,344 TrueType files and 1,343 Type 1 files, 699 families by TrueType name tables, and the same Southern Software copyright strings inside the files.

Byte comparison against the 1994 disc settles how the two editions relate. Of the 1,344 TrueType files here, 1,343 are byte-identical to the 1994 CD’s files. The 1995 disc drops exactly one family group, the five Gill families: Gill, Gill Light, Gill Condensed, Gill Black, and Gill Black Condensed (11 TrueType files), and that is the whole family difference between the two discs. Exactly one shared file differs in bytes: BOOS6.TTF. Every other shared file is identical.

The full family list for this disc is therefore the 1994 list minus those five families: see Key Fonts Plus (1994) for the base list. The dataset below applies that subtraction to the 1994 rows.

The specimens on the 1994 page are rendered from files byte-identical to this disc’s, the Gill group aside.
