ClickArt Fonts 2: the specimen plates

This page is the visual companion to ClickArt Fonts 2: the complete font list, our file-by-file inventory of the 2002 Broderbund font CD. Below is every family on the disc, all 845, rendered from the disc’s own font files in the one-line manner of the printed SoloType specimen catalogs: a label with the family’s style count and the company that digitized it, then the family’s name set as large as the line allows, in its own type. The disc itself is one of the retail bundles on the shelf our font CDs guide surveys. The six picture and symbol fonts, which carry no letters to set a name with, show a line of their glyphs instead; they are encoded in ways standard rendering misses, and are drawn here through a typesetting engine so their glyphs appear as their makers made them.

Rendered specimens are images of the typefaces, published for identification and reference. The font files themselves remain the property of Bay Animation, MicroLogic and Weatherly Systems; the full story of who made these fonts, and why the list matters, is in the main inventory post.
